BOYCOTT DENIED.

AUSTRALIAN WOOL FOR JAPAN TOKYO, August 20. In a special interview, Mr. Kurusu, director of the Commerce Bureau, repudiated the suggestion of a boycott of Australian wool, of which the consumption is increasing every year in Japan. He said there was no fear of a serious diminution in purchases unless Australia unfairly penalised Japanese exports.

Mr. Kurusu explained that the movements to purchase wool from South Africa and Argentina were with a view to correcting the balances of exports and imports. The Government had no intention of giving special subsidies.
