"GET TOGETHER."

EMPIRE COUNTRIES. ECONOMIC PARLEY FRUITS. The necessity for the Empire countries to, take 'tangible steps towards the formation of a monetary policy and the removal of trade barriers was mentioned in a letter considered at a meeting of the. Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday from Mr. A. Rowlands, who represented the chamber at the thirteenth Federated Chambers' Conference in London, and at the. nineteenth annual meeting. The letter was dated July 7.

I "The failure of the London Economic Conference," said the communication, "has helped to bring to the front the feeling that at any rate the Empire countries should get together and take tangible steps, both in regard to marketing policy and the removal of barriers, so that we may make progress while the others are still talking and skirmishing for position in relation to one another.

"You, will see that the congress has had the support of many very distinguished men from all parts of the Empire,. particularly both business and public -men from the city of London," the letter proceeded, "and the work of the congress cannot therefore be taken lightly by the Governments whose help we need to implement the resolutions that have been carried. I have no doubt that your council will do its best to urge with the New Zealand Government several matters to which attention has been drawn applicable to New Zealand." The writer sent at the same time the various committee reports.
