«. INVESTIGATION OF SEEDS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. A conference of tho New Zealand Grassland Association, which has been sitting for the past three days, concluded to-day. Papers have been read by scientific experts, by farming experts and by business men interested in the various aspects of grassland farming, and these have covered a wide field of inquiry and experiment. Among the matters discussed in the papers were the certification of seed and the possibility of marketing grass-seed abroad under certification. To-day tho annual meeting was held. It was decided to recommend to the Minister of Agriculture that a full investigation be' made into the position of certified seeds. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. A. H. Cockayne; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. P. Connell; general committee, Professor W. Riddet, Dr. P. W. Hilgendorf, Dr. H. Askew, Messrs. P. S. Smallfield, G. A. Holmes, J. W. Hadfield, R. B. Tennent, A. W. Hudson, F. R. Callaghan, B. Bruce, Levy and the president and secretary.
