BOXING.

OVER SEVENTY FIGHTS. Great boxing and thrilling fighting is promised in the three 'nights' amateur tournament which will decide this year's Auckland provincial championships. This sporting event will take place at the Town Hall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and each night patrons will see from four to five hours of first-class entertainment. Every year thel annual championships produce bright boxing, and are deservedly popular with Auckland's sporting public. This year's record entry, eclipsing the records established in the last two years, is the largest ever received for a provincial championship in New Zealand, and with well-knowns, unknowns and many country boxers engaged, title-holders will have to be at their best to retain their championships. Every one of the three nights will be packed with action, and patrons will be well rewarded for their attendance, whether they arrive at the start or at a later hour, for it is likely that the first night, perhaps the second night of the tournament, will go on until about midnight, upwards of 70 fights being a big order to go through in three nights.
