LADIES' ASSOCIATION. TEAM FOR N.Z. TOURNEY. POSITIONS IN GRADE CONTESTS. • Mrs. Nash presided over a representative meeting of delegates to the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association, including those from Kerepcehi, Piako, Raglan, Rodney, Waihi, Waikato and Waipa. Miss Vera Isaacs (Auckland) was elected captain of this province's team to compete in the New Zealand championship tourney at Dannevirkc, with Miss Ngaere Turner (l'aeroa) as vice-captain. The side leaves for Hawke's Bay by the 3 p.m. train on Monday, August 21. The Wesley Club was given permission to play a game at Matakana on August 26.

At the express direction of the Kiwi Club it was decided not to postpone the senior grade championship games on August 20, as was intended because of absence of Kiwi players with the provincial team in Dannovirke.

' It was decided to hold a special general meeting on Wednesday of next week to consider ground problems for future seasons, now that the A.G.A.A., the former lessees of the ground intend to surrender the lease on expivy of the present term. Mrs. Nnsh and Miss Dawson were appointed a deputation to wait on the Dilworth Trust Board in connection with this problem. ♦ It was decided to try and interest players in a sports team with a view to entering either the A.G.A.A. or the interhouse girls' sports activities. As a result of this championship St. David's gain the Championship Cup and badges which go with same, and Nga.ro hold the Eden Cup for the ensuing year as runncrs-up. i AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. TARANAKI AFTER JUNIOR CUP. The principal attraction in the hockey world at Rcmuera to-morrow is the meeting of Tarauaki and Auckland in a challenge for the Now Zealand Junior Gup. The home eleven, holders of the trophy, has not had to defend it since 1028. The competition for the cup is restricted to players who are under the ago of 24 years an June 1 and who have not played in more than two games in the senior competition during the season. In addition the Auckland Hockey Association's Devonport Shield contest will ae commenced and six senior grade games, jack of 30 minutes' duration, will be decided during the afternoon.
