DUE SATURDAY.
JAPANESE CADETS. TRAINING SHIP'S CRUISE. WEEK'S STAY AT AUCKLAND. Making her 18th voyage with cadets of the Higher Nautical College of Kobe on board, the Japanese training ship Shintoku Maru is scheduled to arrive at Auckland on Saturday. No wireless report has yet been received from the vessel. .
On her present voyage the vessel; left Kobe on May 10 and went to Santiago, in Chile, where she arrived on June 10. She left there on July 3. On her return trip to Kobe the vessel is to leave Auckland on August 27 and is due home on October 11. On her present cruise the Shmtoku Maru has on board 70 cadets, in addition ,to her regular complement of captain, 12 officers, and 47 men. The vessel is constructed of steel and is of schooner design. She is equipped with auxiliary engines driving twin propellers. ■ The vessel was built at Kobe in 1924 and is of 2518 tons gross and 1173 tons net. Her principal dimensions are: Length, 280 ft; beam, 44ft; depth, 20.5 ft.
