Miss Alison Cooke, of Auckland, has decided to remain on in this country indefinitely, writes our London correspondent, following her mother's death, which took place on July 10 at Sindelsham, Berkshire. Her mother, Mrs. A. Laird Cooke (Marieda Batten) was known as a writer of verse and of Maori love legends.
