DAIRY PRODUCE.

Conference Between British and

N.Z. Farmers.

DANGER OF OVER IMPORTATION

(Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 13.

The correspondence that passed between Mr. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Mr. Gates, president of tho National Farmers' Union, resulting in the latter's decision to send Mr. Baxter, ex-president, to discuss dairy production problems with tho New Zealand farmers, has been published.

Mr. Gates suggests that if New Zealanders insist on the letter of their rights under tho Ottawa agreement and send tho full exportable surplus to Britain, it will result in appalling conditions for the British dairy farmers, and prejudice the British milk marketing scheme.
