MINISTER HONOURED.
_ The Ellerslio Presbyterian congregation gathered in large numbers to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ordination of their minister, the Rev. S. E. Hill. A feature of the gathering was a three-tiered cake made by tDe ladies. The bottom tier was surrounded by 25 candles, while the top layer had on it four candles to represent the opening of the hall four years ago. Mr. Mather, on behalf of the congregation, made a presentation of a wallet of notes to Mr. Hill, and spoke of the esteem and respect in which their minister was held in the community. Mrs. Hill was the recipient of the top storey of the cake, a silver vase, and a bouquet. The Rt. Rev. D. D. Scott, moderator of the Presbyterian Church, conveyed , greetings to Mr. and Mrs. Hill from i the whole Church throughout New Zeai land. The Rev. Gilmour, of the Ball moral Presbyterian Church, said that . he valued very highly the friendship of •iJ£c. Hill, and congratulated the congregation on having such an able minister.
