FEWER PRISONERS.
INDIAN DISOBEDIENCE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 12 noon.) RUGBY, August 11. Official figures published in Simla show that the number of persons in prison for civil disobedience activities at the end of June was 6915, representing the reduction of 75 per cent, compared with the total at the end of June, 1932. Owing to the expiry of sentences, or because detention is 110 longer considered necessary, about half the political prisoners in the North-West Frontier province have been released since the end of June".
