EDEN'S PINE SHOWING.

Leaders in tlio senior B competition, liideii gave a splendid account of themselves against College Rifles in the cur-tain-raiser at Eden Park. Although they were well behind at half-time, they played with great determination -in the second hnlS, and when the final wh'istle sounded they were only two points on the wrong side of the ledger. The first spell was definitely College Rifles', but the order changed in the second when the Eden forwards settled down to play hard- solid football, and lor a time they completely dominated the game. There was littlo difference in the play oE the two sets of backs. Early in the second halt' a try came to College Kifles. From that point onwards Eden held sway, and it they had had a reasonable run of luck it might have been a different story.
