FARMER FINED.
HORSES NOT PROPERLY FED,
A dairyman of Te Papapa, Robert j Thompson, pleaded not guilty before Mr. W. 11. McKean, S.M., in the Oilelninga Police Court this morning to charges of failing to provide sufficient food for two horses and of working one horse with a sore shoulder. Inspector J. J. Hollingworth, of the S.P.C.A., said lie had seen the horses on July 10. Roth were in poor condition, and one had a sore shoulder. Charles A. Aicken gave corroborative evidence. Thompson said that the horses had been fed with proper food but that they had fallen away in condition during the winter. Defendant was fined £1 and costs on each charge, in default 14 days' imprisonment. '
