ANOTHER BIG PROGRAMME. All tastes should be satisfied with the boxing fare which the Auckland Boxmg Association has arranged to take place at the Town Hall on Monday evening, when in addition to a scries of contests between Hawke's Bay amateur champions and some ot the best in Auckland, the P 1 fessional light heavy-weight championship of New Zealand will be at stake. Ray Nicol, holder of the title, and also the heavy-weight championship, is regarded as the .best light heavy-weight New Zealand has produced for a long time, while his opponent, Billy Sullivan, who impressed here when he knocked out 1' irtli, the Royal Naval champion, was rated while in Australia as one of the toughest and games t fighters in the Commonwealth. | Vicol has only lost one of eleven professional fights, and that to Campbell, New Zealand heavy-weight champion, whom lie ! has since beaten twice for the title, while his amateur record shows only two defeats in 40 fights, his victories including the New Zealand middle-weight championship. Sullivan has also beaten Campbell and drawn with O'Malley, light heavyweight and heavy-weight champion of Australia. In the amateur contests Davis, Hawke's Bay flyweight champion, will meet Bruno, Auckland fly and bantam champion, and former New Zealand flyweight champion; Robertson, Hawke's Bay bantam champion, will meet Croul, the clever Auckland bantam; Donkin, Hawke's Bay feather-weight champion, will meet C. Smith, who recently won the South Auckland championship in that division; Rush, Hawke's Bay light-weight champion, will meet Bob Purdie, three times Auckland and New Zealand champion and Olympic representative, who will be making his first ring appearance since his return; Percy, Hawke's Bay middleweight champion, will meet Newton, the Auckland middle-weight. Such a programme .needs little commendation.
