KIDNAP THREAT.
ROOSEVELT'S GRANDDAUGHTER WASHINGTON, Juno 19. A threat to kidnap the 14 months' old daughter of Mr. James Eoosevelt, son of the President, has been revealed, following a fire which destroyed the summer home of the child's fathei at New Hanlpshire. The amount sought by the supposed kidnappers is not known, but it is presumed that the threat was made in a letter to the father, as the Post Office authorities were asked to aid Secret Service men in the investigation. The President had intended visiting his son during the week-end. It was he who instructed the Secret Service to investigate.
