NEW RELIGIOUS LAW.
Talk of Excommunication of
Spanish Officials.
POPE TO BE CONSULTED. (Received 1 p.m.) MADRID, June 11. The OJpiscopate is considering the possible\ excommunication of Government ofl\ials and deputies responsible for tho n» Religious Orders Bill.. The is of opinion that the President, Don Alcala Zamora, who attended Mass as usual two days after signing the law, will not be excommunicated, inasmuch as he did not consciously attempt a crime against the Church's divine liberty, but opposed insertion of the article compelling tho bill's passage. The Papal Nuncio will shortly confer with the Pope regarding the situation which the new law has created.
