TAKAPUNA METHODISTS.
CHURCH JUBILEE SERVICES.
The Takapuna Methodist Church menced its jubilee services yesterday, when there were crowded congregations.
The service in the morning was conducted by the Rev. C. H. Laws, who preached from the text, "One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.'' In the afternoon, an address was delivered to scholars and parents of the Sunday schools by the Rev. W. T. Blight, of Trinity College. The evening service was conducted by the minister of the church, the Rev. E. S. Emmill, who preached from the words, "Come thou with us and we will do thee good." It was mentioned that this was the text of the first Bertnoii preached 50. years ago by the Rev. J. W. G. Speuce. The musical portion of the services wasled by a largely-augumented choir led by Mr. F. E. Sutherland. The anthems were: "Praise the Lord O Jerusalem" and "O Gladsome Light." Miss C. Annour presided at the organ.
