NEW YORK, June 11. In the first round of tho national open golf championship at Glenview, Illinois, Armour was first with 68. Hagen tied with fivo others for second place with i 3. Kirkwood and Sarazen tied with four others lor third place with 74. Subsequently, Johnny Goodman, an amateur, took the lead with a brilliant 06 for 30 holes, his total being 141. Goodman won the final with 257. Ilageu and Armour tied with 292, and Kirkwood tied with another player for seventh place witla'2o^
