WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

WATTS—MARSHALL,

A pretty naval wedding was solemnised on Saturday at St. David's Presbyterian Church, when Iris Lilie, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall, of Epsom, was married to Alfred Melville Watts, shipwright ofliccr of H.M.s Diomedc, and of Torpoint, Cornwall, England. The bride, w.'io arrived at the church with her father, looked very charming in a beautiful gown i/f ivory angel skin lace, over satin, and a becoming veil of Honiton lace, carrying a sheaf of roses and orchids. The bridesmaids, Mjss Elsie Carson and Miss Mabel Smith, looked picturesque and graceful in their frocks of shell pink' era quelle wine chiffon velvet. The bride's.mother wore a gown of black ripple <loth and white crushed velvet, and carried a sheif of autumn flowers. Mr. S. 11. Tozer, warrant shipwright of H.M.s. Diincdiii, acted as best man, and Mr. Macnamara, a messmate of the groom, was groomsman. Brother officers of the groom, representative of .all ships of the New Zealand Squardon, provided a guard of honour with an archway of swords. A garland was hoisted 011 IT.M.s. Diomcde throughout the day. The wedding breakfast and reception were afterwards held in the Mount Eden tea kiosk, where over 100 guests were received. A beautiful scale model of IT.M.s. Diomcde was an attractive decoration. The best man, in proposing the toast of the, bride and groom, recalled a very gallant act of the groom in saving the life of a man in danger of drowning at great risk to bis, the groom's, own safety.
