STRATFORD CONTEST.
MAYORAL NOMINATIONS.
messbs McMillan and THOMSON. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) STRATFORD, this day. The nominations received for the Mayoralty aro those, of two previous can-didates-—Messrs. J. W. McMillan and Percy Thomson. The election will be held on Friday, June 23. No supplementary roll will be issued.
At the recent municipal elections Die official count showed a tie between the former Mayor (Mr. Thomson) aiul Mr. McMillan. Both agreed to decision by lot, and oil the toss of a coin, as carried out by the returning officer, Mr. McMillan was declared clccted. Subsequently a,petition wa*> lodged by ratepayers, and on the ground of an irregularity in ihe issue of voting papers to electors the presiding magistrate declared the election void.
