WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.
TE PUKE. A meeting was held in St. Andrew's Hall on June 6. Miss Chappell was chosen as the delegate to attend the conference to be held in Christchurch. The prizes won at the recent show, organised by the Women's Institute, were presented by Miss Chappell. A library was formed, and each member was asked to give a book. Mrs. Christian, of Tauranga, gave a talk on "Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning," and Miss Chappell demonstrated . tatting. The eggless cake competition was won by Miss Sherman, with Mrs. Gemming second.
