LITTLE THEATRE FROCKS.

' The concert chamber was filled in every part on Saturday evening, when ■the • Little Theatre Society presented "The Queen's Husband," by Robert E. Sherwood. Great trouble had been taken with the arrangement of the stage, which opened with the King's private oflicc looking out on a terraced garden. The hangings in this were very finely harmonised, the blue drapings at each side of the stage being thrown into relief by almost black velvet curtains set of! by Burgundy in the foreground. The back of the stage was a huge Georgian window, and this had bright royal blue valances edged with golden fringe and touched with golden cords at the side. A touch of humour was given by the royal arms which were suspended above the window and included two very fat cupids. - Miss Betty Mcßae, as Princess Anrie, made her first entrance in a stylish black frock cut on the most modern lines and with a high white cowl neckline and -full sleeves caught with a large blaik and white button. ITer next appearance was in a dove grey ensemble worn with a small hat to match, with a blue wing crossing the crown. Another •unusual dress was in mustard colour cloth, finished at the waist with a red, jiayy and yellow striped leather belt. In the wedding scene she appeared in a .silver lame, cut with long flowing lines "and a jewelled tiara which confined the smoke grey veil which fell in graceful lines at the back. The part of the queen .was taken by Miss Whctu Kayhcr, who wore striking frocks. She made her first entrance in a deep beige lace, with fur trimmings. It had a beige lace coatee with fur at;,the neck, sleeves and waistline. Another appearance was made wearing a long beige coat of cloth with' wide sleeves and re vers and a gold toque, finis-hcd with an upstanding spray of pink osprey plumes. In the wedding scene she was gowned in cloth of ■ gold, cut on medieval lines, with a royal order crossing the corsage of black and violet. She wore a cluster of jewels in the corsage and ropes of pearls and long jewelled earrings. ITer robe was of purple velvet, bordered with white fur, and on her head she wore a tiara. Amongst those present were: Mesdames J. Swan, McCallum, F. Gaudin. Sheffield, Edger, Kolin, sen., Bray, Klinkhorn, Belph, T. W. Leys, P. Leary, Corrigan, Soiners, C. Moses, J. W. Thompson, C.
