LORRY SMASH.
TELEPHONE POLE STRUCK. TWO MEN" IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. While conveying workmen to a road contract job near Tolaga Bay yesterday, a lorry came into collision with a telephone pole, the upper part of which pierced the cab and seriously injured Charles Parsons. The driver of the lorry, Jack McGill, had his leg fractured. Several other men were thrown clear into the swamp and escaped injury. Parsons and McGill were taken to hospital.
