PUKEKOHE STOCK MARKET. DAIRY CATTLE IN DEMAND. TOP PRICE £8 15/. There was an improved demand for dairy ■cattle, and values advanced somewhat at the sale conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., at Pukekohe. Fat and store cattle met with a free sale,- and sold well up to late rates. Prices for fat- and store pi<zs were very firm, the demand being keen. Quotations are:— Dairy Cattle. —Be6t dairy cows and heifers, £7 to £8 15/; others, £5 to £6 15/; backward heifers, best quality, £4 to £4 15/; other heifers, £3 to £3 15/; small and inferior heifers, 30/ to £2 10/; in-calf heifers, £1 10/ to £2 10/. Beef.—Light prime steers, £4 to £4 12/6; other steers, £3 to £3 15/; prime fat cows. £2 10/ to £3 5/; lighter cows, £2 to £2 6/; forward cows, 30/ to 36/; boner cows, 20/ to 28/. Store Cattle. —Jersey weaner heifers, 12/ to 25/; bulls, 30/ to £3 5/. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £2 8/ to £2 13/; light baconers, £1 16/ to £2 6/; heavy porkers, £1 8/ to £2 12/; light porkers, £1 to £16/; large stores, 15/ tc £1; slips, 8/ to 12/; weaners, 6/6 to 10/6.
