KEEN DEMAND FOR LAMB. LATEST FROM SMITHFIELD.TliE BANK'S REPORT. The Bunk of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office, as lit the close of business this week: —Wethers: Weaker values are ruling owing to lack of demand. Ewes. There is only a poor demand. Lambs: There is a good demand. The market is firmer for heavy-weiglits. Trade generally is brighter, with a bettor demand. Wethers, light, 3d to 4d per lb; heavy, 2V£d ewes, 2d to 3%d; lambs, twos, oUd to 5%d; eights, 4%d to sd; fours, 4%d to 4%d; seconds, 5d to 5%d.
