JUBILEE PROGRAMME. WEEK-END CELEBRATIONS. DIVINE SERVICE ON SUNDAY. Functions to commemorate the jubilee of the Auckland University College are to extend over the week-end. They will commence officially on Saturday evening, though the smoke concert to the visiting Australian Universities' football team on Wednesday night unofficially inaugurated the celebrations. For Saturday evening a social gathering has been arranged by the Court of Convocation, the Students' Association and the Federation of University Women, to be held in the students' block at the college. All graduates arc invited. Sunday is the actual day' on which the anniversary falls. On that day Divine service will be held in the college hall, when all denominations have beefi invited to be present. Dr. H. Ranston, a member of the college council, will preach; and the service will be attended by members of the college council staff, graduates and students. At the service academic dress will be worn.
On Monday a reception will be held in the college hall and library, when addresses will be given by the GovernorGeneral. Lord Bledisloe, the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, and the president of the college, Sir George Fowlds. All graduates are invited, and the student body will be well represented. The graduation ceremony, when degrees are conferred, will be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. Sir George Fowls will confer the degrees, and will address the gathering. Other speakers will be: Professor T. A. Hunter, vice-chancellor of the University of New Zealand, Professor A. P. W. Thomas, one of the original four professors of the college, Professor C. W. Egerton, chairman of the Professorial Board, and the Rev. M. G. Sullivan, president < f the Students' Association. After the ceremony the graduation ball will be held by the Students' Association at the college, scheduled to start at ten o'clock.
