BUS SERVICE VALUED.
PUKEKOHE TO AUCKLAND. "If the No. 2 Licensing Authority decides to make Papakura the terminal for the buses which serve Pukekohe, I a 3i afraid it will lead to a discontinuance of the service," declared the Mayor, Mr. J. Routly, at last night's Meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council. Mr. Routly contended that the discontinuance of the service -would be detrimental to the tradespeople of Pukekohe and would result in no end of inconvenience to farmers and people in adjacent districts who depended on the jbuscg for transport to and from Pukekohe. Tile council passed a resolution urging tlie licensing authority to renew the licenses in respect to the buses serving Pukekohe and Tuakau, as a curtailment of the run to a terminal such as Papakura would lead to a discontinuance of the service. The Mayor was asked to attend tlie meeting of the Licensing Authority and give evidence in support Sf the renewal of the licenses.
