ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. GREAT GAME IN THE FINAL. DRAMATIC FINISH AND STYMIE. The Rotorua ladies' golf tburnament concluded yesterday afternoon in brilliant weather. The final of the championship between Miss Snodgrass (Itotoruu) and Mrs. J. M. Wilson (Auckland) produced an exciting game, the decision not being reached until the eighteenth hole. The local player held the advantage till the thirteenth, where she was dormy 4. Mrs. W iison then made a sensational recovery, taking the fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth, and narrowly mlsseil squaring the match at the eighteenth. Miss Snodgrass was thus the victor, 1 up. The first hole saw both players careful and taking no chances, the hole being halved in sixes. The second found Miss Snodgrass in trouble, finding the bunker on the left of the green, Mrs. Wilson taking the hole, 3—6 The third was halved in fours, but the fourth the local player took in 5—6, squaring the match. At the fifth both players failed badly, the hole being halved in sevens. At the conclusion both players were accorded a great ovation.
