TWO BURGLARIES.
SUBURBAN HOUSES. CLOTHING Ai\lD JEWELLERY. LABOURER'S ADMISSION. A labourer named John Maliuta Parker, aged 32, appeared in the Police Court this morning on two charges of housebreaking. Parker was charged with breaking and entering the dwelling of James Gordon Miller, Fairviow Road, on May 1, and stealing a suitcase, two suits and other articles, of ft total value of £10, and, on April 30, with breaking and entering the dwelling of Charles G. Nicol and stealing a gold bangle, gold and opal brooch and a diamond ring, of a total value of £22 1 Detective Davis, who arrested accused, produced a statement which Parker had made and signed, admitting entering the houses during the absence of the occupants and stealing the clothing and jewellery. He admitted selling the suits to a pawnbroker for £1, and the jewellery to another pawnbroker for £1 10/. Parker, for whom Mr. K. C. Aekins appeared, pleaded guilty to both charges, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
