TAKAPUNA ECONOMIES.
NOTICE GIVEN TWO OF STAFF. The Takapuna Borough Council, at a special meeting held last evening in committee, decided to dispense with the services of the acting borough engineer and his assistant and to appoint a foreman of works in their place. Botli engineer and assistant are to be given two months' notice of the termination of their engagements, and both will be eligible to apply for the newly-created position of borough foreman, the salary to commence at £5 per week. The council decided to defer consideration of further economies in the town clerk's department.
