TE AWAMUTU TRACKS.
RURI AND DUST UP PLEASE. LIMEEN GOES AMISS. The going was good on the course proper, which was available about 24ft out from the rails, for fast work at Te Awamutu yesterday morning. In view of the Te Kuiti meeting at Te Rapa next ►Saturday some pleasing efforts were recorded. The fences on the steeplechase course were also available. Other tracks used were the plough aud inner grass.
Course Proper. Rμ i completed a mile nicely in 1.50. He could have clone better. The maiden candidate Dust Up had Sea Ruler as a companion over four furlongs, which they in 54 l-sci. Sea Ruler worked nicely. Kanapa, who hopped away from the five-furlong pcj?, was assisted home over the last three furlongs by Goodfellow, to take 1.5 1-5. Transaction and Protomint were together at the conclusion of seven furlongs in 1.35. Eager Rose was not doing her best over six furlongs to occupy J. 27. Matakokiri (Day CometFlying Nell) had Arawa Rose as a companion over two furlongs, which they ran in 28 2-ss. .Jonathan and Limeen were allotted four furlongs twice, which they completed in 57s and 52s respectively. Limeen pulled up very sore, evidently having given herself a bad rick behind. Marechal finished well ahead of Beryl Latour at the end of six furlongs in 1.20. Marechal is working nicely at present, and a etakc should go hie way soon. Emancipation and Sir Musk covered a mile and a quarter together in 2.25 1-5, the last mile taking 1.55 .3-5. A pleasing effort was provided by Rita's Light, who com■pleted four furlongs alone in 52 l-ss. This marc is in nice order at present, and should perform creditably at the Te Kuiti fixture.
Gallant Jack (McGregor) was sent once round over five fences on the steeplechase course, and jumped in a pleasing manner. This fellow is developing into a nice type of jumper, and he should be heard of in the near future.
