FURORE IN CANADA.
Conscription Suggested By Brigadier. OFFICIALLY DISCLAIMED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, May 15. Brigadier Anderson, in a statement at a military banquet that Canada's military training should be on a conscription basis, created a furore. "It is not tho policy of tho Government," declares Sir George Perley, acting-Premier.
Mr. B. C. St. Pcro (Liberal, Montreal) declared: "An official who talks like that should be 'fired.'"
"The statement is not Governmental," states Colonel La Flechc, deputy Minister of Defence and president of the Canadian Legion.
