Professor H. Corbin, of Auckland, is in Wellington. Mr. P. Hally leaves for the South by t.he express to-night. Mr. H. C. McCoy left for the South by the express this afternoon. Dr. G. W. Harty, of Wellington, \e in Auckland at the Grand Hotel. Mr. O. Nicholson ■ will leave by the express to-morrow night for Wellington. The Rev. Mr. Tamahori and Mrs. Tamahori, of Eotorua, are in Auckland, at the Central Hotel. Mr. W. S. Bennett, Dominion superintendent of Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., ie in Auckland at the Grand Hotel. Dr. and Mrs. A. A. McDougall, _of Ottawa, Canada, are on a holiday visit to the Dominion, and are at the Grand Hotel. Colonel and Mrs. G. Hall, who have been spending several weeks in Auckland, return south by the Limited to-night. Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., Stratford, Dominion president of the Farmers' Union, was amongst the arrivals by the Limited from the Soutk this morning. Paymaster Lieut.-Commander (E.) C. S. B. Hickman, Commander (E.) It. P. Chapman and Paymaster-Commander M. V. Duke were arrivals by the Limited from the South this morning. Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., who for the past two years has been one of tbe commissioners at Napier, will resume his duties as magistrate at Wellington on Thursday. Dr. W. B. Sutcb, of Palmerston North, who was one of the party of four who were overdue more than a week in the. Tararua Ranges recently, has been visiting Auckland. He went south by the Limited on Monday evening. Mr. A. W. Manning, of Avondale, has been appointed Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Smallholders' Association, and Mr. A. Goddall, of Grey Lynn, lias been, added to the Dominiou executive. Mr. T. H. Grenfell, recently of Auckland, but now of London, will represent the advertising group of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at the Empire Marketing and Advertising Convention, commencing at the Olyinpia, London, on July 17. Mr. H. G. Miller, librarian at Victoria College, returned to Wellington yesterday by the Remuera from England after twelve months' absence. He travelled on a Carnegie Fellowship, and visited libraries in the United States and England. Messrs. R. Bauchop, of Tokanui, Southland, and A. R. Entrican, forest products engineer in the State Forestry Department, returned to Wellington yesterday from England, -where they negotiated on behalf of New Zealand timber growers with a view to having their products, particularly Southland beech, placed on the Home market. Messrs. F. N. Ambler and A. Rowlands will represent the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at the thirteenth, congress of the Federation of Chambers of Congress of the British Empire, -which is to be opened by Mr. Ramsay McDonald at the Guildhall, London, on July 13. The thirteenth congress was to be held in Wellington, but owing to the exigencies of the times it was last October decided to postpone the holding of the congress in New Zealand until 1936.
