LOCAL BODIES.

ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL. The Onehunga Borough Council met last night, the Mayor, Mr. E. Moiton, presiding. Fire Board.—The Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board furnished the council with an estimate of expenditure necessary to be incurred in the fire district for the year ending on March 31", 1934, amountinp to £30,400. The suburban local bodies share is assessed at £15,000, and Onehunga's contribution is set down ■it .-GCe '2/8. This shows a reduction ot £79 on the council's assessment last year for the maintenance of its own tire brigade. The town cleric pointed out that the present levy is based on a property valuation, while in previous years the couucil had to pay Whatever the local fire board demanded. NEW LYNN BOROUGH COUNCIL. The New Lynn Borough Council as new v constituted, met last evening. The Mavor Mr Geo. Laweon, presided, and was appointed deputy-Mayor.
