COURT SENTENCES. TEN PRISONERS APPEAR. VARIETY OF OFFENCES. Ten prisoners appeared before Mr. Justice Smith for sentence in the Supreme Court thia morning. Bankrupt's Offences. Probation for three years was granted Lawrence William Pickett, found guilty of obtaining credit while, an undischarged bankrupt and of failing to keep books. My character has been good up till now," said Robert Telford Wilson, a middle-aged man, who had been found guilty of assault with intent to do grevious bodily harm, ami with causing actual bodily harm. The bodily harm you did was very serious. You broke a man's jaw both sides. The police report very little is known against you. and that you are a man of no fixed abode. However, there ie nothing previously known against you, and in the circumstances you will bo sentenced to one year's imprisonment, with hard labour."
