TrTPA-n OF RIVER RACE. VICTORY FOR ST. JOSEPH'S. SYDNBT, April 80. The annual head of the river boat races were held yesterday. The weather was showery, but as usual • enthusiastic crowds lined the banks of the Parramatta River or were afloat in all manner of craft. The results were:—Champion Eights.—St. Joseph's College 1 1, Sydney Church of England Grammar School 2 and 3, Sydney High School 4. Won by half a length. First Fours.—Sydney High School 1, Sydney Church of England Grammar School 2, Scots College 3. - Second Fours. —Scots College 1, Sydney High School 2, Sydney Church of England Grammar School 3. • . A message from Hobart states that the Tasmania Public Schools rowing championship race yesterday resulted as follows :— Friends School 1, Clemes School 2, Hutchins* School 3. Won by a length. An Adelaide telegram says that in the head of the river boat race on the Torrens River Prince Alfred College won from the Adelaide High School by a length and a quarter. _^

MASON CUP. With 300 vards covered West End were over a length out from St. George's, with Auckland the same distance back. Half way across Hobson Bay the positions were the same, but approaching the gap St. George s coming fast, closed on West End and took the lead. West End spurted, and at Point Resolution were again in front. Auckland challenged strongly and displaced St. George's for second place.
