THE AIM OF LABOUR'S FINANCIAL POLICY 15 TO REDUCE RATES To RELIEVE UNEMPLOYMENT, and thus KEEP MONEY IN CIRCULATION AND RESTORE PROSPERITY ! H. G. R. MASON, M.A., LL.B., M.P. The present Mayor and Council promised "to concentrate their early efforts, in particular, on the problem of relieving: the burden of rates!" They have failed. The Mayor has resisted proposals ror reduction of sinking' funds payments, £106,000 per annum for Auckland City (see daily papers, 10/6/1932), and the best he could say ror relief in interest payments was that I he was "not opposed" to it (dally papers, 3/3/1033). MR. MASON, on behalf of LABOUR, has always been strongly FOR relief. VOTE MASON MAYOR and for all Local Bodies. Plump the Whole LABOUR Ticket!
