HARRIERS.
TECHNICAL OLD BOYS' CLUB,
The opening run of the 1933 season of the Technical College Old Boys' Athletic Club harriers will be held at Mission Bay next Saturday. This club, the present Auckland cross-country champions, has every hope of maintaining its high standard of last year. Despite the fact that Cooper, Bradley and Barker will not be turning out regularly, and may not be available for the team racing, high hopes are entertained for the coming success of several promising runners. Both Pelham and Bainbridge,. of last year's A team, are available, while a decided acquisition in C. Sinclair, the Wellington cross-country representative, has joined the club. These three runners should form the foundation of a really strong team, and with the assistance of such promising runners as Raper, Mortimer, Fraser, Crawford and Thrift, should maintain the high position the club now holds. Over 40 runners are expected to turn out regularly, and, under the leadership of T. M. Wilson, the Auckland captain and champion of several years back, and who, incidentally is staging a "come back," strong packs should be built up.
