ENGINE DERAILED.
CRASH INTO LORRY. TWO MEN JUMP CLEAR. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) • ASHBURTON, this day. The engirt of a passenger train was derailed through striking a lorry, laden with ;rrain, at the crossing near Ealing at seven last evening. The lorry was wrecked, but. little damage was done to the engine or the permanent way. The owner of the lorry, Mr. J. C. Guinness, and a companion, jumped, clear. None of the carriages was derailed, and twenty passengers on the train received only a shaking. A relief train brought them to Ashburton two hours later. The engine was replaced on the lino 3J hours later.
