TE AWAMUTU TRACK.

HORSES FOR PUKEKOHE. SEA RULER WELL FORWARD. The course proper next to the rails was available at Te Awamutu yeaterday morning for horses with engagements at Pukekone, while other horses worked about 50ft out. Owing to the heavy rain that has fallen during the last few days the going was heavy. On the Rails. Sea Ruler was first out, being allotted five furlongs. He had a lot in hand to take 1.4%. This gelding continues to work along nicely and should perform creditably to-morrow. Ruri completed a similar task in 1.6. He also could have done much better. A pleasing effort was that of Marechal, who covered a mile in 1.47, the first half occupying 525. This fellow has only to run to tTack form to be a possibility at Franklin. Transaction finished slightly ahead of Musquil at the end of five furlongs in 1.6. Protomint, who was worked early, covered six furlongs nicely in 1.19. As this horse is not very forward he Is an unlikely starter to-morrow. • On the Outside. Kanapa was allowed to run along easily over four furlongs, taking 575. Tenakoe went very ungenerously over five furlongs, which occupied 1.12. Goodfellow had Emancipation as a companion over a mile, but neither was doing above threequarter pace. Sir Musk had to forgo, his Franklin engagement owing to receiving a severe cut on a knee, caused, presumably, by his rolling on a broken bottle. While engaged in a schooling bout with Emancipation last Saturday _ Goodfellow over-reached and gave himself a bad cut. He was given fast work yesterday mornring, but when pulled up he waa very eore.
