RACING AT PUKEKOHE.

THE FRANKLIN MEETING. AN EXTRA DAY. PROGRAMME FOR TO-MORROW. Having acquired a permit for an extra day's racing the Franklin Racing Club will hokl a meeting at Pukekuhe to-morrow and ivith the excellent fields engaged, the fixture, provided the weather is fine, should be as successful as its predecessor, for the club usually has a big attendance. The Hurdles. Sixteen are engaged in the Bombay Hurdles. Arch Eagle failed at Whangarei and Auckland, while Patutahi was sore after jumping yesterday and may not start. Biform ran well in high-weight engagements at Avondale, and as he has previously shown he can jump he should be in the money. Free Air has also shown good form over hurdles, running third at Ellerslie at Easter. High Commissioner was second to Ganpat at Stratford recently and Unoco is stated to have been going well at Te Aroha during the last week. Wee Prince performed well when schooled at Ellerslie yesterday. Neil and Ruby Dawn may be the pick of the others. The best backed may be BIFORM HIGH COMMISSIONER FREE AIR.

The Pukekawa Handicap. A big field of hacks is carded for the Pukekawa Handicap. Miss Lulu is at the head. She ran well at Avondale, finishing .second on Saturday, while on Monday she ■was in' a good position when she fell at the turn into the straight. Transaction was placed in a nine-furlong race at Takapuna, while Tahae Mea was just beaten in the Bombay Handicap, six furlongs, at the last Franklin meeting and is a promising sort. Hushing was second and third in a five-furlong and also a six-furlong event event respectively at Whangarei. Musgo was second in the latter race and _ is reported to be in good fettle. Diversion showed some speed at Avondale, and a slight improvement would make her hard to beat. Val Watch has been going well at Te Aroha, as has Shon Latour. Gold Musk and Golden Spahi may pesfcaps be the best of the others. A trio that may have support are DIVERSION MISS LULU HUSHING. A Race Divided. The Harrisville Hack Handicap has had io be divided. Thespis has proved himself on the flat as well as over hurdles, and even with 9.10 is not out of it. Royal Gallant looked well at 'Avondale and ran prominently for. a. good way in the Mt. Roskill Handicap on Monday. *He has proved himself under winter conditions previously. Landlubber also showed up at the same meeting, while at the last meeting at Pukekohe he won over a similar distance to the race, under review. Miss Lulu is engaged earlier in the day, but if reserved is sure to go well. Sweet Whisper was a winner at Avondale, and Chief Lap ivas narrowly beaten by Gay Broney over six furlongs at the Bay of Plenty meeting, with Instalment third. Wee Musk won the Bombay Handicap at the last Franklin meeting. Intaglio may be the best of the others. Those who may be in demand are

LANDLUBBER ROYAL GALLANT CHIEF LAP. The Pukekohe Cup. A good field is engaged in the Pukekohe Cup. Taneriri failed at Avondale, but UAllegro won the Foley Memorial and looks like being very hard to beat in this event. Royal Artist will require firm going, and if the course is at all dry he should be capable of a good effort. He has shown that he is approaching his best form in his recent starts in Auckland. Jonathan has proved himself to be a good sort. The distance should not trouble him, and after his dual success at Avondale he will be in demand. Valroe made a fair showing at the same fixture. Grand Talk can go a good mile and a quarter, while Desert Star raced well over, a mi}e at Avondale. Chief Cook ran well in the Autumn Handicap, one mile and a quarter, at Avondale, finishing second to Master Brierly, and he should again be in the picture. Whakapara won over a mile and a quarter at Whangarei, while of the others True Blood and Psychologist appeal. The favourites may be

L'ALLEGRO JONATHAN" CHIEF COOK. The Second Division. The second division of the Harrisville Hack Handicap ■will form the fifth race. Imamint showed that she was returning to form by her effort over a mile on the first day at Avondale and she should be prominent. Foulwind failed to_ get into the money at Avondale,. but United raced well. Gigantic ran a fair race at Avondale on Saturday. Beau Irish won oyer a mile at Rotorua, beating, among others, Chang. Sandy Dix and Mahkill look the pick of the remainder. Most money may go on UNITED IMAMINT GIGANTIC. Te Kohanga Handicap. The Te Kohanga Handicap is a race for two-year-olds. Rapper performed well at Avondale, as did Gold Pocket. Cherry King was fourth in the Oakley at the same meeting, while My Money occupied a. similar position in the Nursery Handicap on the second day. _ Queen Nona performed well earlier in the season. Musquil won at the last Franklin meeting. The public may go for RAPPER GOLD POCKET MUSQUIL. The Puni Hack Cup. A big field is engaged in the Puni Hack Cup, and Jonathan, if reserved for this event, should be in the picture. Ornamental won the Hikutaia Hack Cup, eight furlongs and a half, at Ohinetnun, after performing well earlier. Holly Lu deadheated with Master Norval in the Mt. Roskill Handicap, one mile, at Avondale, and should again go well, while Gay Broney, who is also engaged, was only a head away. He has raced well this season. Courthaven scored easily over a mile and a quarter at the same meeting on Monday and Golden Sceptre was successful over seven furlongs the same day. Tatyoon was fourth in the Chevalier Handicap, one mile, on Saturday at Avondale and is a likely improver. Royal Gallant, Blanford and Ruri look the best of the others. Those who may be most in demand are ORNAMENTAL GAY BRONEY TATYOON. The Concluding Event. •- The meeting will conclude with the Paerata. Handicap, and a trio that may be in demand are LIMEX AIGUILLE. LADY'S BOY. A special train will leave Auckland at 9.20 a.m. and another at 9.50 a.'m. The k 9.50 train will stop it Newmarket only.
