DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Devonport Borough Council was held this week, the Mayor, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, presiding. North Devonport Drainage.—The engineer reported that all pipe laying had been completed. With the installation at an early date of the pump and motor the reticulation could be used. The work remaining consisted of cleaning up. Football Grounds.—Football grounds for the 1933 season were allocated as follows: Rugby, two; Association, two; League, one. The fees will be the same as those originally fixed. Stqjiley Bay Park is to be closed for all sport on account of the late sowing of grass seed. Transfer of Sections. —Acceptance of an offer by Messrs. R. and R. Duder to transfer sections in Hastings Parade to the council was deferred pending a report from the engineer. Anzac Day.—lt was decided to leave the question of memorial services to the various churches. The council will place a wreath on the local war memorial without parade or service.
