PAGANELLI'S SMART SPRINT. L'ALLEGRO WELL FORWARD.. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") / HAMILTON, this day. There was some interesting work at Te Rapa this morning, the best effort being a brilliant three furlongs by Paganelli. The going was ideal, and the flags were 30ft out on the course proper. Kahau and a King Nassau gelding were not extended to run two fnrlongs in 335. Welcome Lu ran live turlongs easily in 1.8. Ruby Meteor did three-quarter pace work for a round. She is looking well. Gay Duke and Paganelli went off at the half-mile peg. Paganelli cleared away from his companion, negotiating the first three furlongs in 345. .He was then eased up. Paganelli is looking a picture. L'Allegro, Valpai and a Day Comet gelding were companions over five furlongs in 1.5. L'Allegro is in a forward condition. Racefield and Arcade did easy work on the plough, and Chang three-quarter pace for a round. Phiakuo was exercised on the inside grass. Star Comet went well over a round in 2.8. Cruachan was given a round of the hurdles, and fenced beautifully. Wilton gave a satisfactory display of jumping. Trowbridge also jumped well. Simeon and Royal Visitor did a round of the hurdles, giving a safe display. Mangani was also responsible for a good exhibition of fencing.
