MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
NEW LYNN BOROUGH. At the conclusion of the business of the New Lynn Borough Council last evening Mr. Marshall Laing, in intimating that he would not be accepting nomination at the forthcoming municipal election, paid a warm tribute to the work of the Mayor, Mr. Geo. Lawson, during the past two years, and aa a ratepayer expressed pleasure that the Mayor had again decided to offer his services. These remarks were endorsed by the full council. The Mayor expressed his appreciation. Of the present members, Messrs. W. Piatt, Geo. Severne, A. Woolley and A. Jeffrey will again stand for the council. Mr. S. James' position is doubtful.
