Mrs. Harcourt and Miss Harcourt, who have been touring the Dominion, return to their home at Suva, Fiji, by the Monterey this afternoon.
Mrs. F. D. Pidgeon, Auckland, who is visiting friends at Port Levy, will return to Cliristchurch shortly to stay with Mrs. E. W. Pidgeon, Bealey Avenue.
The Women's Unemployment Bureau, in Cliristchurch, liag. during the last two months, filled 85 permanent, 75 temporary and 88 casual positions.
Miss Audrey Lawrence, of Lewin Road, Epsom, returned to-day from a holiday spent at Tauranga, where she was the guest of Mrs. Jordan.
Mrs. L. L. Allen visited Riverliead last Monday in the interests of the women's division of the Farmers' Union and formed a new branch with Mrs. Moose as president and Miss Isabel Winchester as secretary. * # * *
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Riches, of Geneva, who have been spending a few weeks with Mrs. Riches' father, Mr. J. R. Montgomery, Christchurch, and with relatives in. South Canterbury, left Auckland to-day on their return journey. # # * *
Miss Nelle Scanlan left Wellington on Saturday for the North. She will visit Palmerston North and Taranaki, going to Rotorua and then Auckland before crossing to Australia. Miss Scanlan will return to Wellington before she sails for England in June. * » « *
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Bowes, Springfield, Road, Christchurch, left on Friday for Auckland to meet Mr. W. F. Bowes and Miss E. Bowes, who have arrived from London. Mr. W. F. Bowes has been absent from the Dominion for 35 years, most of the time being spent in Peru, in the service of the West Coast Cable Company.
