DUNEDIN, Monday.

Cards containing the names of purchasers, a description of goods and the amount of deposits were made out, duplicates being held in the-office. ' In January the treasurer became suspicious, as the receipts were falling off. Accused explained the shortage .by saying lie had taken shilling instead of half-crown instalments to enable depot customers to have some extra .money over the holidays. The receipts were investigated and it was found that 33' cards were incorrectly returned, Howio received 30/ pep week in wages. The magistrate remanded accused in custody.
