WAIHI HOTEL PROSECUTION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) - WAIHI, this day. A. G. Carter, licensee of the Golden Cross Hotel, Waihi, was charged. with keeping his premises open for the sale,of liquor and exposing the same for sale. In this case a local resident was fined fpr being on licensed premises after hours. The evidence showed that no liquor had been nerved or asked for, but was given by a barman. The magistrate said the evidence did not justify a conviction and the case was dismissed.
