Private advice has been received of the death of in Denmark on February 21 of Professor Johannes Schmidt, aged 56 years, who was leader of the Danish Oceanograhpic Research Expedition in the vessel Dana, which visited New Zeafcnd in 1928. The scientific leaders, including Processor Schmidt and Dr. Andersen, who kw also died since, visited Auckland, Wellington and other centres.
