THAMES NEWS.
There was a full attendance of members at Ihe annual meeting of the Thames Volunteer Fire Brigade. The election of officers resulted : —Superintendent, Mr. L. Alexander; deputy, Mr. A. Fleming; secretary, Mr. C. Scott; treasurer, Mr. J. Pratt; foremen, Fireman F. Wilton (north ward), Fireman E. Kenny (south ward). At a social evening held after the meeting the superintendent presented Fireman C. Cameron with a silver medal for five years' service. Fireman O. McDonnell received a two years' service bar, completing 17 years' service; Fireman L. Sutcliffc, a bar for completing 11 years' service: and Fireman A. Bateman, a bar for completing 19 years' service. The Peddie Cup, presented for athletic competition, was won outright by DeputvSiiperintendent Fleming, who won it four times out of 12 competitions.
