DARGAVILLE CLUB.

The club competitions at the Dargaville Bowling Club are now reaching finality. Pairs. —Section A: Wilkinson and Williams defeated Steven and Jones last evening in the three concluding heads from their match (continued from Wednesday night). Of the last three Jones scored one on each of two. Williams scored three on the final, winning the match by 26—20. This match eliminates all but Wilkinson and Williams. Section B.—Barnard and Nicolson, with two matches to play, have had 4 wins and 2 losses. Watt and Grevllle are leading in the section with 6 wins and 2 losses. Armitago Trophy.—ln this handicap competition for B grade players Johnston hns 13 -wins 1 loss, and two matches to piny. Steven has 12 wins 2 losses, and two mutches to play. Hughes Trophy.—ln the handicap competition for A grade players there are 16 competitors. The position at present Is that D. A. Williams, J. Vodanovieh and P. Morrison, \ each with 10 wins 2 losses, are on equnl terms. TANEATUA BEATS WHAKATANE. Under ideal weather conditions the final match in connection with the annual competition for the shield, which is Competed for by the Whakatane and Taneatua Bowling Clubs ,was held on the Whakatane greens this week. Bridger, Caisley 6; Feathers, Grace, Spencer, ' Rangi, Ruddick 29, v. Wheelock, Steel, J. Bell, Williams 15. The visitors won by 82 points to 77.
