TRIAL SHIPMENT.

PEACHES FOR ENGLAND. (By Telegraph.—'Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. An experiment of interest to fruitgrowers is the shipment by Mr. W. .T. Manuel, of Coal Creek Flat, of the first consignment of peaches from Roxburgh for the English market. Mr. Manuel believes that the consignment will arrive in good condition, as he has made successful trials of keeping fruit over periods of greater length than the time occupied by the voyage to England. If the consignment arrives in first-class condition, there is no reason why large quantities of peaches should not be exported from Otago, as well as from the fruitgrowing districts of the Dominion.
